Filter authorisation based on organisational unit

You can use filter authorisation for an organisational unit, for example, to give a manager access to the data of the people he manages. This subject relates to filter authorisation for a specific organisational unit.

You can also set a universal filter by organisation chart layer; this is covered separately.

You add a filter on a specific organisational unit to the Employees table, as a result of which Profit only shows employees of this organisational unit when this filter is applied. You link this filter to the correct authorisation group. In the example below, you use a filter on the ADMTEAM organisational unit and link it to a group to which the managers of this organisational unit belong. As a result, a manager from this group can view all the employees of the underlying department.

The major advantage of this approach: If you add a new manager to the ADMTEAM authorisation group, this person automatically has access to the correct employees based on the filter authorisation.

To add an authorisation filter:

  1. Go to: General / Management / Authorisation tool.
  2. Click on: Data filter maintenance.

Profit shows the tables by which you can filter.

  3. Select HRM - Employees.
  4. Click on: Add.
  5. Add a filter on the organisational unit.

  6. Click on: Refresh. This allows you to test the filter.
  7. Close the filter.
  8. Go to the tab: Group maintenance.
  9. Select the authorisation group.
  10.  Go to the tab: Authorisation.
  11. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee (MSS) / Filters.
  12. Activate the filter for the group.
