Send messages from external packages via Profit

You can read messages from an external package in Profit and send them to agencies via Profit. This functionality is specifically for administration and accountancy firms. These service providers can use this functionality, for instance, to submit tax returns to the relevant agencies on behalf of their clients.

Note:

The NTLM phase-out has led to a change in the way this connector works as of Profit Update 2016.2.08. The new procedure uses token-based authentication. You must change the configuration according to the procedures described in the Help. You call the connector based on AppConnectorCommSvc.asmx.

Old solutions (based on the CommSvcConnector.asmx call) can still be used, but if you create a new solution or want to switch to the new technology, follow the procedures described here.

Administration and accountancy firms often use various administrative packages when doing their clients' work. However, as much as possible the message exchange with agencies such as the tax authority should be using one system. You can use Profit for this purpose.

You can enter the following messages from an external system in Profit and then submit them to the relevant agency:

  • Send the VAT declaration to the tax authority.
  • Send the supplementary VAT declaration to the tax authority
  • Send the ICP declaration to the tax authority.
  • Send CoC documents to the Chamber of Commerce

The service provider (the administration or accountancy firm) needs to create a link between the external system and Profit themselves. The messages need to be registered in Profit via a web service. This is a generic solution which various parties can use and that does not require a customised solution or prior permission from AFAS.

After the messages have been registered in Profit, they are shown on the service provider’s OutSite site. Clients can log on to the OutSite site and have to approve messages for submission. Approved messages are sent from Profit via the communication service to the relevant agencies.

Procedure

  • Configure external messages

The configuration comprises two parts. You need to configure a Profit environment to exchange messages with agencies. In addition to this, you need to create a link with Profit for reading messages in this environment.

  • Use external messages

You can read messages from an external package and process them in Profit. This functionality is specifically for administration and accountancy firms who submit messages on behalf of their clients.
