Make a field mandatory

You can make a field mandatory for all users so that it always needs to be completed.

This field setting applies in New wizards and property windows.

Note: 

You can only change administrator settings if you are authorised to do so.

To make a field mandatory:

In this example you make the Sector field mandatory.

1. Go to: CRM / Organisation/person / Organisation/person.
2. Open the properties of an organisation.
3. Go to the tab: Organisation.
4. Right-click on the Sector field name.

   

5. Go to the tab: Administrator settings.

   

6. Select the Mandatory check box.
7. Click on: OK. 
8. Click on: Yes. This reopens the environment with the new settings.

To check the field setting:

In this example you check the field setting for the Sector field.

1. Go to: CRM / Organisation/person / Organisation/person.
2. Open the properties of an organisation.
3.  Go to the tab: Organisation.
4. If the Sector field contains a value, clear it. The field gets a yellow background because it is a mandatory field.

   

5. Click on: Cancel.
