Definition

Certain data in Profit is saved as a definition, for example reports and analyses. You can export definitions and import them in another environments and you can authorise definitions separately.

Description

Definitions include analyses, reports, GetConnectors, views, documents, CLAs, alert definitions, migration definitions, entry layouts and report sets.

In the definition properties you will find default data, such as the creation date, change date and last use date. You will also see who has created, changed or used the definition. This data is on the Logging tab.

From the definitions you can also authorise by Definition group and assign a category for authorising.

Procedure

  • View a definition
  • In the properties of the definition, you see when the definition was last called (consulted) or changed. You can also use the properties for authorisation of definitions.
  • Export and import a definition

    You can export reports, analyses, documents, entry layouts and alerts and import them in another environment.

  • Use a definition as a template

    You can specify that you want to use specific definitions as templates, but this is not mandatory. When you add a new definition, you can specify that it is based on a template.
