Add an account level

You add your own account levels to your environment.

To add an account level:

  1. Go to: Financial / Ledger / Configuration / Account level.
  2. Click on: New.
  3. Enter the number after which a subtotal is to be generated in the overviews in the Account number to field. This does not need to be an existing ledger account; if the account number does not exist, the subtotal is displayed after the last available ledger account.
  4. Enter a level for the subtotal.

Level 1 is the lowest (most detailed) level, level 9 is the highest level. Level 9 should only be used for the totals in the ledger. It is impossible to change a level code after-the-fact.

In defining the subtotals in the overviews, the balances of the accounts are accumulated starting with the preceding equal or higher level. This means that on level 1 all balances of the ledger accounts are summed starting with the preceding level 1 or higher. At level 2 all balances of the ledger accounts are summed starting with the preceding level 2 or higher, whereby the summations at the lower level (i.e. level 1) are ignored, etc.

  5. In the Account on overview field, you enter the number you want to display on the various overviews (such as the trial balance).
  6. Enter the description.
  7. Click on: Finish.
