The CLA/term of employment of the employees can contain multiple default timetables. This can be a default weekly timetable or a default timetable for a variable work pattern. The important thing is that the timetables apply to multiple employees. When you link a default timetable to an employee, that employee has fully configured timetable. If none of the default timetables is the correct timetable, you can enter a specific timetable for the employee.

A variable work pattern means that an employee does not have fixed working hours and/or working days.

If an employee has a work timetable (for example in the case of shift work), you link a timetable cycle with different week timetables to the employee.

More information about applying the timetable.

The timetable for the employee is used as follows:

  • Determine the part-time percentage

The number of hours per week is used to determine the part-time percentage. Profit calculates the part-time percentage based on the number of hours per week as recorded in the working week of the CLA/term of employment.

The part-time percentage is used to process the wages in Profit Payroll. If a period contains multiple timetable lines, Profit can calculate an average value based on the weighted period calculation. You can also decide not to apply this calculation, in which case the value on the last day of each period applies.

  • Complete the timetable calendar

Profit uses the completed timetable (the working hours per weekday) for completing the timetable calendar. The timetable calendar forms the basis of the occupancy overview and all reports concerning occupancy and absence.

  • Number of days and hours for the wage calculation
  • Timetable and worked contract days

The timetable calendar is also used to determine the number of timetable and worked contract days in Profit Payroll. This is not possible for employees with a variable work pattern (without work timetable), so in their case a different calculation is used.

  • Calculation of leave and absence hours

If the working hours of an employee are known, then the number of leave hours for a leave entry can be determined automatically. The same applies to the number of absence hours in an absence entry. If the employee has a variable work pattern, you need to calculate the number of leave or absence hours yourself.
