Add salary employee

In the case of a change of salary, you add a salary line with the correct start date.

If you add a contract, timetable or job line, Profit will automatically add a salary line with the start date of the contract, timetable or job line. In this situation, the new line is a copy of the previous line. If you delete the linked contract, timetable or job line, you will also delete the salary line that was added automatically.

When you record the full-time salary, Profit automatically converts it based on the part-time factor of the employee. You also have the option of recording a part-time salary, in which case no conversion will take place. You define the choice for this in the properties of the employer .

The salary is used in Profit Payroll for the wage processing. If a period contains multiple salary lines, Profit can calculate an average value based on the weighted period calculation. You can also decide not to apply this calculation, in which case the value on the last day of each period applies.

Note:

For employees paid per hour, Profit only performs the weighted calculation if the Apply timetable in Payroll check box is selected.

If during a period the employee switches from a fixed or scaled salary to an hourly wage (and the Apply timetable in Payroll check box is selected), then the weighted calculation will not return the correct result. These types of transitions should  always become effective at the start of a period.

You can enter a period salary or a scaled salary. If you enter a scaled salary, the relevant wage scale must have been configured in Profit. You can go to the Salary processing cockpit in Profit Payroll to apply a new periodic increase in any period.

The Period number periodic and Repeat after (periods) fields are inextricably linked to the Period next increase field. If one of these two is filled, then the other two must also be filled. If an employee has reached their maximum periodic increase, you can enter a fictitious value or add a new contract line and leave the fields empty. The history will be retained in the previous contract line. In the new contract line the aforementioned fields are empty, because the wage scale is no longer applicable.

Add salary:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Salary.

Profit displays the salary lines starting with the employee's first employment.

  4. Click on: New
  5. Enter the start date.

Profit will automatically close the previous line on the day before the start date.

The period table cannot be changed into a new salary line. This is because of historical data you are not allowed to deviate from.

If the employee must be paid through another period table anyway, add a new employee with a new employee code. You can select the other period table at the new employee.

  6. Enter the new salary.
  7. Click on: Finish.

You can see in the view that the previous salary line has been terminated. The new line does not have an end date, it remains effective until the next change in salary.
