Change a salary in InSite

If an employee's salary changes as from a certain date, or if you have recorded the incorrect salary, you change this in InSite.

When you record the full-time salary, Profit automatically converts it based on the part-time factor of the employee. You also have the option of recording a part-time salary, in which case no conversion will take place. You define the choice for this in the properties of the employer .

The salary is used in Profit Payroll for the wage processing. If a period contains multiple salary lines, Profit can calculate an average value based on the weighted period calculation. You can also decide not to apply this calculation, in which case the value on the last day of each period applies.

Note:

For employees paid per hour, Profit only performs the weighted calculation if the Apply timetable in Payroll check box is selected.

If during a period the employee switches from a fixed or scaled salary to an hourly wage (and the Apply timetable in Payroll check box is selected), then the weighted calculation will not return the correct result. These types of transitions should  always become effective at the start of a period.

You can enter a period salary or a scaled salary. If you enter a scaled salary, the relevant wage scale must have been configured in Profit. You can go to the Salary processing cockpit in Profit Payroll to apply a new periodic increase in any period.
