Add a dossier item type for serial numbers

If you want to set up a dossier per serial number, you must first add a dossier item type with the destination Item + serial number.

Because a serial number does not have to be unique, Profit does not accept the serial number on its own as a destination. That is why the destination always is a combination of item and serial number and you must also make the Item destination optional or mandatory.

The Serial numbers functionality must be activated.

To add the dossier item type for serial numbers and/or lots:

1. Go to: CRM / Dossier / Configuration / Dossier item type.
2. Perform the procedure described in Add a dossier item type.
3. Open the properties of the new dossier item type.
4. Go to the tab: Additional destination.
5. Select Item as the destination.
6. Click on the action: Mandatory or Optional.
7. Select Item + serial number as the destination if you want to be able to add the new dossier item type to a serial number.
8. Click on the action: Mandatory.
9. Click on: OK. 
10. You can now add a dossier item to a serial number.
