Error message when submitting a dossier item

Notwithstanding the configuration, it is still possible that someone who submits a dossier item gets an error message concerning the destinations for the dossier item type. This message is 'An unexpected error has occurred'. The administrator can check the log to see what the error is. In the details, you see the message 'The destination doesn't match the setup for the selected subject type. The following links must be supplied: ...'. This message indicates that there is a destination for the dossier item type that the logged-on user cannot satisfy (perhaps because of the organisation with which he/she is logged on).

You resolve this as follows:

  1. In Profit Windows, go to the maintenance function for dossier item types.
  2. In the 'Properties' of the dossier item type in question, click on the 'Dossier' tab.
  3. It is likely that a destination is set to 'Mandatory' or '1 of these is mandatory' but that this is not a valid destination for the customer who submitted the dossier item.
  4. You must therefore modify the destinations on the 'Dossier' tab in such a way that it becomes a valid destination. One option that will always work is:
    • Only the destination 'Organisation/person' can be mandatory.
    • Any other destinations may not be more than 'Optional'.
