Activating a wage component

To include a wage component in the wage calculation, you must activate the wage component.

Note:

Only activate those wage components that you really need. Profit includes every activated wage component in the wage calculation, even if Profit does not actually calculate it. A critical approach to the activation of wage components results in better performance.

During the activation, Profit initiates an RAE entry. If the date is in the past, all employees that were and still are or have been employed from that date will once again appear in the salary processing.

After a wage component is activated you set up the journal structure for the wage components for which the journalising has been configured. This completes the journal structure. If you do not complete the journal structure after you activate a wage component, Profit will report this when it processes the salaries.

Activate a single wage component

A wage component can be activated via the properties of the wage component.

To activate a single wage component:

  1. Go to: HR / Organisation / CLA.
  2. Open the CLA properties.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Open the view: Wage components (not activated).

    Profit displays all non-activated wage components.

  5. Open the properties of the wage component.
  6. Go to the tab: Parameter.
  7. Open the view: WC parameters (linked).
  8. Open the properties of the 'Activeren in CAO' parameter.
  9. Go to the tab: Values.
  10. Click on: New.
  11. Enter the start date.
  12. Enter the end date if you want to activate the wage component for a specific period. You can also leave the end date field empty.
  13. Select the Apply check box.
  14. Click on: Finish.
  15. Click on: OK.
  16. Set up the journal structure after you have activated the wage component.

    Note:

    Wage component templates cannot be activated. To make use of a wage component template, you must first make a copy of the wage component template.

    Each wage component has a comment in which the operation of the wage component is explained. Always take a look at this explanation on the Comment tab in the properties of the wage component in the CLA. If you do not have the wage component available, first activate it.

Activate multiple wage components

It is possible to activate multiple wage components at the same time using a wizard.

To activate multiple wage components:

  1. Go to: HR / Organisation / CLA.
  2. Open the CLA properties.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Click on the action: Activate wage components.

    Profit launches a wizard for activating wage components.

  5. Select the wage components to be activated.
  6. Click on: Next.
  7. Enter the start date.
  8. Enter the end date if you want to activate the wage component for a specific period. You can also leave the end date field empty.

    The start date applies to the wage components you activate.

  9. Click on: Finish.
  10. Set up the journal structure after you have activated the wage component.
