Variable wage entries

You can post variable wage entries in the Enter wage entries entry program.

Fixed wage entries are recorded as part of an employee’s properties.

Description

You use Enter wage entries to enter a wage entry for a specific employee in a specific period.

The Enter wage entries function makes use of the following default entry layouts:

  • Wage entries per wage component

If you want to post to a single wage component for different employees.

  • Wage entries per employee

If you want to post to different wage components for a single employee.

If in the wage processing period the wage component already obtained its value from a higher level, you post the deviation to the then applicable value (positive or negative value) in the entry program.

For each wage component you specify whether a value in the entry program replaces or supplements the value at a higher level.

Example:

The travel expense allowance is € 130.00. You record this at the highest level, in other words the CLA.

  • An allowance of € 120.00 is agreed upon with one employee. This is recorded at the employee level.
  • A monthly reimbursement that is dependent on the actual travel costs incurred is agreed upon with yet another employee. For this employee you post an entry each month with the amount to be reimbursed that month.

This procedure is preferred over individually recording the travel expense allowance for each employee. For example, if in the latter case 25 employees receive the same allowance, and this allowance is increased in the new year, you would have to adjust this amount for these 25 employees.

You can also use Enter wage entry to post subsequent payments. A subsequent payment is an additional payment that you want to make after the end of an employment. A subsequent payment is always based on a special back pay contract that you must add to the employee.

Preparation

Procedure

  • Enter wage entries

You can post wage entries to wage components that apply to employees on an irregular basis or for which the value in each wage period is or can be different.

  • View and change wage entries

You can view wage entries using various functions in Profit.

  • Pro forma calculation

A potential employee often asks the question ‘What is my net pay?’, when the employee is informed of his/her gross wage. You can use a pro forma calculation to make a quick calculation without processing it.
