Parental leave and maternity leave in Payroll

If you want to include parental leave or maternity leave in the salary processing, you can use default wage components. Take the following situations into account for use of the correct wage components:

  1. Parental leave (unpaid leave)
  2. Parental leave (unpaid leave), employer continues to pay the employee
  3. Maternity leave, 'UWV' pays the employee
  4. Maternity leave, 'UWV' pays the employer, the employer pays the employee

1. Parental leave (unpaid leave)

In the Profit CLA and Basic CAO the following wage components are present for this purpose:

  • 100.000.124 'Ouderschapsverlof dagen'
  • 100.000.223 'Ouderschapsverlof uren'
  • 100.001.111 'Vermindering salaris (Uit dagen ouderschapsverlof)'
  • 100.001.112 'Vermindering salaris (Netto uit dagen ouderschapsverlof)'
  • 100.001.113 'Vermindering salaris (Uit uren ouderschapsverlof)'
  • 100.001.114 'Vermindering salaris (Netto uit uren ouderschapsverlof)'

    Note:

Each wage component has a comment in which the operation of the wage component is explained. Always take a look at this explanation on the Comment tab in the properties of the wage component in the CLA. If you do not have the wage component available, first activate it.

Post the hours and/or days to the wage components that belong to the Days/hours group. Enter this as a fixed wage entry for the employee.

Profit does not apply a weighted calculation if the start date of the parental leave days or hours is after the first day in the period. In this case, enter the actual hours or days for the employee manually.

2. Parental leave (unpaid leave), employer continues to pay the employee

First, reduce the salary (see above), after which the continued payment amount can be entered.

In the Profit CLA and Basic CAO the following wage components are present for this purpose:

  • 100.001.043 'Betaald ouderschapsverlof'

    Note:

With continued payment during parental leave, the employer can be eligible for 'Afdrachtvermindering betaald ouderschapsverlof'.

  • 100.006.105 'Afdrachtsvermindering Betaald ouderschapverlof'

Modify the below parameters in the properties of the employee:

    • 'Afdrachtvermindering Betaald ouderschapsverlof toepassen Ja/Nee'

You determine per employee if you apply this 'afdrachtvermindering'.

    • 'LHK Uren/week verlof'

Enter the number of hours per week that you continue to pay.

3. Maternity leave, 'UWV' pays the employee

This situation is comparable to Parental leave (unpaid leave). You can apply this in the same way in Profit.

4. Maternity leave, 'UWV' pays the employer, the employer pays the employee

This situation is comparable to 'Paternal leave (unpaid leave), employer continues to pay the employee', but the employer may be entitled to 'afdrachtvermindering'.
