Progress in the actual costing

When you use the Actual costing per week and Actual costing per line functions, the Progress action is available in the entry window. Use this action to open the Progress registration entry layout to edit and add progress lines.

When the lines that have been specified in the cost estimate are updated, an existing line is changed or a new one is added. This depends on the general settings in the entry layout.

You can register the progress in two ways:

  • Date-independent: when registering the progress, existing progress lines are overwritten.
  • Date-dependent: when registering the progress, existing progress lines are not overwritten, but progress lines are added.

We assume that the former method is most commonly used, which is why the default fields in the entry layout are based on this.

Note:

You must first authorise the action before you can enter any progress lines.

To add progress lines:

  1. Go to:
    • Projects / Actual costing / Actual costing per week.
    • Projects / Actual costing / Actual costing per line.
  2. Open the entry layout.
  3. Select a value for Employee.
  4. Enter a value in Financial year and Period.
  5. Press: F5.
  6. Click on the action: Progress.
  7. Complete the fields.

    The values in the Project number, Work type, and Employee fields are copied from the cost estimate line.

    The Date field is completed with the quotation date from the cost estimate line.

    Depending on the general setting in the entry layout, a filter is applied on Work type and/or on Employee. Also depending on the setting, the progress registration is tracked by date or is overwritten.

  8. Click on: Finish.
