Report the WIP complete

You can report the completion of the work in progress for multiple lines or projects in one go.

Note:

If you use project dimensions, you have to report the completion of each dimension separately. You add the dimension fields to the entry layout so that it is clear for which dimension the amounts have been entered on the balance sheet. If you do not do this, a line per project per dimension is shown in the entry layout.

In the view you see the costs and revenues of the work in progress for every project. This is the amount that is on the balance sheet. Also shown are the cost and revenue totals that have already been transferred off the balance sheet (that have been reported complete). If required, you can modify the Report WIP complete, for example, to display data from the Report work in progress ready (incl. balance 0) data collection. You can also use a filter to display only a part of the lines entered, and you can have the component started with a default filter.

To report the WIP complete:

  1. Go to: Projects / Invoicing / Cancel WIP.
  2. Select the lines to be journalised.
  3. Click on the action:
    • Cancel current selection WIP: the selected lines are journalised. You can also deselect WIP amounts for journalising. The action works on multiple lines, so for multiple projects at the same time. The selected projects are not closed.
    • Cancel current selection projects: the selected lines are journalised and the projects are marked as Completed. This means you can no longer post entries to the project. The action works on multiple lines.
  4. Click on: Yes.
  5. Enter a value in Voucher date. The journal entries are created with the entry date specified.
  6. Click on: OK.

If you have selected to report the completion of projects, these projects are marked. You can find the Completed check box on the Date tab of the project master data. Deselect this check box if you want to release projects for entries again.
