Digital prenotification of a packing slip

In the packing slip (or, if applicable, already in the sales order) you specify that you want to prenotify the shipment to TransSmart. You also enter the number of packagings and the total weight of the shipment. These values are passed on to TransSmart as soon as you report the packing slip ready.

Depending on the agreement you have made with TransSmart, you can also enter the Transporter and the Service or leave them empty and have TransSmart determine them. You must configure this function first.

Note:

With the prenotification to TransSmart, Profit passes on the private telephone number and private e-mail address of the contact of the 'sales contact person’ type. This means that TransSmart can always trace back the shipments. (Normally this should be the work data of this person who is from the associated organisation.)

TransSmart copies the delivery address from the packing slip as the address to which the transporter is to send the shipment.

You can still change specific fields in the TransSmart portal.

To set up a sales order/packing slip for the digital prenotification of a shipment:

  1. Go to: Order Management / Sales process / Sales order.
  2. Add the packing slip using the Create packing slip action in the view or via the sales order properties.
  3. Select the entry layout to which you have added the fields Status shipment, Number of packaging units, Packaging and Shipping weight.
  4. Select Hand over to transporter as Status shipment.
  5. Enter the number of packagings in Number of packaging units. This also determines the number of labels to print.
  6. Enter the total Shipping weight (in kg).
  7. Select the type of packaging Packaging, for example, pallet.

    In this view, you can add packaging types with a code and description. These packaging types are only used for this function.

  8. If applicable, select the Transporter and the Service if these fields have been added to the entry layout and you do not want them to be determined by TransSmart.
  9. Select the Reported ready check box.
  10. Click on: Finish.

    After this, the Status shipment changes to Handed over to transporter. Also, the sales order gets the Delivered status.

  11. Profit now receives a message from TransSmart indicating that the shipment is correct. To see this, view the status.
