Release a blocked order

There are a number of reasons why an order can be blocked, For instance, because the credit limit of the sales contact has been exceeded or because the order amount is too low or too high. It is also possible to have all orders blocked automatically, for example, because the orders need to be approved (=released) by an authorised person.

If you click on the Blocks action during order entry, Profit reports whether one or more blocks are active for the order. If a block is active then you can change the order so that the block is lifted, for example, by changing prices or discounts or by adding or deleting order lines.

This not only applies to counter/direct invoices and sales orders, but to all entry layouts in the sales process and the purchase process.

Note:

You cannot create a packing slip for an order that is blocked. However, reservations on the stock are made.

A blocked order can only be released by someone who is authorised to use the Release of order action.

To release a blocked sales order:

  1. Go to: Order Management / Sales process / Sales order.
  2. The procedure matches the procedure for releasing a blocked quotation.
