Allocate a purchase order

You can allocate a purchase order line to a sales order line if there are still purchase order lines available for the article. In fact, you reserve the purchase order line for the sales line in question.

Manually allocated purchase orders are not allocated automatically to a sales order. You can also allocate manually added purchase orders to a sales order manually.

Note: 

If you click on Allocate automatically in the Order Planning, the available stock is not taken into account in the allocation and allocation takes place on all lines that are visible in the Order planning entry program. However, for automatic allocation from within the sales module, the available stock is taken into account.  

To allocate an purchase order line to a sales order line:

  1. Go to: Order Management / Sales process / Sales order.
  2. Select the sales order.
  3. Select the sales order line for which you want to view the purchase order or to which you want to allocate another existing purchase order line.
  4. Click on the action: Allocate.

    You now see a view with the data for the reserved purchase orders.

  5. If required, view the allocated purchase order using the Purchase order action button.
  6. Click on the action:New purchase allocation.

    You now see the purchase order lines that can still be reserved for this sales order line.

  7. Click on: OK.  Or click on Cancel if there are no purchase order lines available.
  8. Click on: Finish
  9. You now return to the sales order. In Reserved for purchase, you can see the quantity that you have just allocated as purchase order.
