Activate the functionality
Before you can process packing slips using the barcode scanners, you must first activate the Barcode scanner integration functionality in the environment properties.
This functionality uses the UpdateConnectors. These should therefore be part of your licence. Profit Order management should also be included in your licence. To use the packing slip with the barcode scanner function, Sales must be activated and for stocktaking Stock must be activated. For goods receipts with the barcode scanner Purchase must be activated.
The following conditions influence how the software affects the scanner, if scanners are used for packing slips:

You can activate the Barcode scanner integration functionality using the default procedure.
Ideally you should activate the new functionality at the end of the working day, or over the weekend. This is because during the activation process, a conversion will always occur, and during this conversion your employees cannot work in Profit. It is recommended that you first test a new activation in a test environment, before you implement it in the live environment.
To activate the functionality:
- Go to: General / Environment / Management / Properties.
- Go to the tab: Activation.
- Select the check box of the functionality that you want to activate.
Profit warns you that after activating the functionality the environment needs to be converted.
- Click on: Yes to activate the function.
- Click on: OK.
Profit warns you that no other users can be logged on.
- Click on Yes in the message.
