Viewing releasenotes
The release notes are an important source of information for a new Build or Update. The release notes provide an overview of all changes and improvements implemented by AFAS in response to incidents and improvements submitted by you.
You can retrieve release notes only for Profit Updates that are even-numbered, such as 02, 04, 06, 08, etc. The uneven Updates are only relevant for so-called ‘early adapters’. If you install an even-numbered Update, it also contains all the functionality from the previous uneven Update. If you view the release notes of an even Update, you will also see the release notes of the previous uneven Update. For example, if you view the Profit Update 10 release notes, the Profit Update 9 release notes are also included.
You view the ‘New in’ pages in the KnowledgeBase to see an overview of new functionalities.
The release notes can also be viewed via our AFAS KnowledgeBase. Use the AFAS KnowledgeBase to search Training videos, Profit Help, and the release notes at the same time.
To view the Profit release notes:
- Click on: 'Profit Update Center'.
For each product, you see the buttons for Updates, Builds, Patches, and Release notes.
- Click on: Profit Release Notes.
Depending on your licence, by default the release notes of the last registered Profit Update are displayed.
You can filter the release notes by selecting them based on product, version, build and update. You can also search for a specific term, such as ‘employer’ or ‘VAT’.
Extra options in the filter:
- 'Cumulatief': the release notes for all updates up to and including the selected update. For example, if you select version 2014.01, update 6 and you select the Cumulative check box, then all the release notes from updates 01 to 06 are displayed, sorted by category.
- 'Toekomstige': the release notes for updates that are higher than the update you are currently working with.
