Filter data in a data collection

You can apply a filter in a view, for instance, so you only see the data (view rows) that you actually need. If you always use the same filter, then you can include it in the data collection on which the view is based. This way the filter will always be applied when a user consults the view.

For output based on a data collection, filtering occurs at three times:

  • Predefined filter

The data collection contains a filter programmed by AFAS, for instance to show only data from a particular year or from a particular administration.

  • Filter by fields

You include a filter in the data collection based on the fields you have added to the data collection. For output based on the data collection, Profit will always take this filter into account. This streamlines the processes in your organisation and saves you time because your employees no longer need to create these filters themselves.

  • Filter within output

This filter is not part of the data collection. You can apply a filter when consulting a view or a report, for instance.
