Add an alert

You copy a default alert supplied or you add a new alert based on a data collection of your choice.

Description

It is advisable to add and test alerts in a test environment. Ensure that the test environment is a copy of your live environment with the same groups, users, etc. You can create a test environment by restoring a backup of your live environment using a different name.

If the alert is correct, you can export it from the test environment and import it into the live environment. The major advantage to this approach is that you can test the alert extensively in a test environment, without any disruption to your users as a result of the test alerts that are generated.

Procedure

• Copy Profit alert

  If you want to use a default alert supplied with Profit, you have to activate this alert first.

• Add own alert based on a data collection

  Add a new alert based on a data collection.
