Manage competence clusters

A competence cluster is a grouping of similar competences. A competence can be part of one or more clusters.

Example: 

For example, the Enterprising cluster consists of the Customer Oriented, Networking, Entrepreneurship, Result Oriented, and Vision competences. The Customer Oriented competence can also be a part of the Performance and Environment, Communication, and People and their emotions clusters.

You determine yourself how you will use the competence clusters. You can, for example, use the rule that roles of each competence cluster must contain at least one competence. The Competence dictionary (Profit) report is laid out based on competence clusters.

If you have copied supplied Profit competences during the initialisation, the clusters are already available with the related competences.

To copy a Profit competence cluster:

You can also copy Profit competence clusters afterwards. In that case, the associated competences are copied as well.

  1. Go to: HR / Competence management / Configuration / Competence cluster.
  2. Click on: New
  3. Select gebaseerd op een door Profit geleverd competentiecluster.
  4. Select a cluster.
  5. Click on: Next
  6. Enter the code of the competence cluster. If necessary, adjust the name and the description.
  7. Click on: Next

    You can see the competences that have been added by Profit in this cluster.

  8.  Deselect the competences that you do not want to include in the cluster.
  9.  Click on Finish.

To add and structure a competence cluster:

  1. Go to: HR / Competence management / Configuration / Competence cluster.
  2. Click on: New
  3. Complete the fields.
  4. Click on: Finish
  5. Open the properties of the new competence cluster.
  6. Go to the tab: Competences.
  7. To add competences:
    1. Click on: New
    2. Select the check boxes for the required competences. You can only select competences that are available in HR / Competence management / Configuration / Competence.
    3. Click on: Finish
