Add article groups for the integration with Financial

You use an article group to journalise the subscription invoices in Profit Financieel. You can also use the article groups for generating reports about the subscriptions.

For each article group, in our case ‘Subscriptions’, you specify a ledger account in which you want to enter the revenue. You added the ledger accounts in Profit Financieel beforehand, possibly with your consultant.

To add an article group for subscriptions:

1. Go to: Subscriptions / Subscription / Article group.
2. Click on: New. 
3. Enter a value in Article group.
4. Enter the description.
5. Leave the Contains stock items check box deselected.

   It is important that you do not have the Contains stock items check box selected for the article group you use for subscriptions. This is because the Profit Subscriptions module is intended for invoicing amounts. For this invoicing, Profit does not track the stock as Profit only uses packing slips to track the outgoing stock. You do not use these in Profit Subscriptions.

6. In Revenue account, select the ledger account in which you want to enter the revenue from the articles in the subscription in Profit Financieel.
7. In Credit entry acc., select the ledger account on which you want to enter the credit entries for subscription articles in Profit Financieel.

   These can be different ledger accounts, if required.

8. Click on: Finish. 

Next you can set up Allocation links.
