Example of monthly subscription - invoice date later

In this example you will add a subscription to an invoice cycle for a month (M1) where the first month is not free.

The subscription starts on 01-01-2012. You invoice on 01-01-2013 and at that time, Profit must invoice this subscription.

Subscription with monthly invoice cycle (M1) where the first month is not free. The subscription starts on 01-01-2012.

  • Start date subscription: 1 January of the current year.
  • Start date invoice cycle: 1 January of next year.
  • Cycle invoicing: Maand.
  • Invoice for the first time: on 2 January of the current year when you invoice for the entire previous year and for January of next year.

To add a subscription:

  1. Go to: Subscriptions / Subscription / Subscription.
  2. Click on: New.
  3. Select a value for Organisation/person.

  4. Select a value for Type of subscription.

    You can use the subscription type in reporting or to select subscriptions during invoicing.

  5. Complete the remaining fields.
  6. Complete the line: 
    1. Select a value for Item type.
    2. Select a value for Item code.
    3. Enter 01-01-2012 in Start date and 01-01-2013 in Invoice from.

    If you now start the invoice run on 2 January 2013 Profit does invoice the subscription. The start date of the cycle remains 01-02-2013 of the current year. You can only invoice the subscription again on (or after) 01-02-2013.

  7. Click on: Finish.
