Record address settings for each country
You configure the address settings per country. This allows you to specify, for example, that in Dutch addresses the house number follows the street name, while in British addresses the house number precedes the street name.
You can also specify whether Profit should check for the completeness of addresses entered when persons and organisations, purchase and sales contacts, etc. are added. Using this function, you can prevent incomplete addresses in the central address table. This check is also performed when importing address details.
To record the address settings for each country:
- Go to: General / Configuration / Country settings / Country.
- Open the properties of the country.
- Go to the tab: Addresses.
- The fields under Address layout define how the address is formatted. For a Dutch address, the house number is placed after the street name and the postal code before the city name. Other settings may apply for international addresses (with different country codes).
If you select the Province in address layout check box, the province name is included in a formatted address.
- The fields under Address input indicate how an address is entered and how it is checked for completeness.
- The description of the P.O. Box is applied by default for P.O. Box addresses.
- If you select the Add. for street visible check box, you can enter the addition in a separate field when you record an address.
- If you select the Address addition visible check box, you can complete an extra line with address information when you record an address.
- In Add city, determine if Profit should add a new city automatically to the city table (based on the postal code).
- In Complete address, determine the check for completeness of an address. You can also disable this check.
- Click on: OK.
