To add a new counter
Add a counter and link it to the proper journal. You can add a counter with a continuous range, with manual periodic ranges or automatic periodic ranges. A counter needs to be linked to a journal only once (in other words not every year). As long as there is a range for the invoice or entry date, it is possible to issue a number.

Procedure
- Counter with a continuous range
If you want to make use of a ‘perpetual’ continuous range you must add a counter with a continuous range. This range is not time-dependent and you therefore do not enter an end-date.
- Counter with manual periodic ranges
You add a counter with a date-dependent range to which you can manually add an unlimited number of ranges. Profit uses the proper range on the basis of the entry or invoice date.
- Counter with automatic periodic ranges
A counter including an automatic range contains the financial year and/or the administration. Profit can automatically increase the financial year on a yearly basis.
- To link a counter to a journal
After you have added a new counter, you must still link it to the correct journal.
