Determine the campaign target group
There are three ways to determine the target group for the campaign and to link it to the campaign action.

Description
- using a general selection from the database based on Contacts in which you select on the Organisations and Persons fields.
- using an analysis in which you filter on other data than that for Organisations and Persons, for example, on existing Sales contact with a recently placed order. You then import the analysis in the campaign action.
- You can also use the same target group of contacts that you have used in a previous action. If necessary, you can reduce the size of the target group manually.
You can link multiple selections to one campaign action. You cannot link a selection to an action twice.
Procedure
- Add a general selection
You determine the target group of the campaign based on a general selection from your database. Using the selection, you select all contacts the campaign is directed at. Profit adds the contacts to the campaign when you link the campaign selection to the campaign action.
- Create an analysis and import it as campaign selection
For the campaign selection you import an analysis with contacts, for example, if you have used Excel to create an analysis of Profit data that results in a list of contacts (.csv file). You then import the list of contacts ('Contact' is the only field available for the import).
- Use the selection from a previous campaign action
You reuse a selection that you already used in another campaign action, for example if the current campaign action is a follow-up action directed at the same target group. If you choose this option, Profit does not regenerate the selection, but copies it literally from the selected campaign action.
