Configure allocation dependencies
With allocation dependencies, you force the system to only allow certain combinations of allocation codes during entry.
Description
By default, you determine the allocation codes to which you can post entries for each ledger account. The allocation dependency functionality offers an additional refinement: you record dependencies between allocation codes from different axes.
Example:
You use axis 1 (Department) and axis 2 (Branch). Next, you record the following dependencies:
- For entries on the Afdeling Directie, you can only select the Vestiging Amsterdam because the company's main office is there.
- For entries on the Afdeling Productie, you can only select Vestigingen Rotterdam, Den Haag en Utrecht. These are the only branches with a production department.
In this situation, various allocation codes of axis 2 are dependent on allocation codes of axis 1. For allocation axis 2, you indicate that it is dependent on allocation axis 1.
