Delete ledger accounts

If you adopted the default chart of accounts, you probably want to remove ledger accounts. Do this before you inadvertently use the account, because once you do it is impossible to delete it.

You cannot delete an account number once an entry has been posted to it or if the account number has been linked to a journal or if the account number is linked to a setting.

To delete a ledger account:

1. Go to: Financial / Ledger / Ledger account.
2. Select the ledger account.
3. Press: Ctrl+S if the column with the check boxes does not appear in the view.
4. Select the account(s) to be deleted.
5. Click on the action: Delete accounts.
6. Click on: Yes.
