Configure the leave type for special leave
In the case of special leave, an employee receives a number of hours of leave because of exceptional circumstances, such as marriage, death, etc.
You use a separate leave type for special leave, because special leave does not result in a write off of the leave right. The relevant leave hours continue to be paid out. If you maintain a balance by leave type, you can see per employee how much special leave he or she has per period.
To add the leave type for special leave:
- Go to: HR / Organisation / CLA.
- Open the CLA properties.
- Go to the tab: Term of employment.
- Open the properties of the term of employment.
- Go to the tab: Leave.
- Click on: New.
- Enter the start date.
- Select the leave type (this is a value from the Leave type table).
- Select the basic leave type.
The basic leave type is linked to the employments.
Example:
In the Full-timer employment you have selected the Holiday check box.
You then add a leave type with the value Leave or Statutory for Basic leave type. This leave type will be used for all employees with a full-time employment type.
- Enter the basic periodical entitlement in hours.
You specify the basic leave type for the duration of a leave period. This may be a year, or perhaps a quarter or a month.
Profit displays the basic leave type in days for your information; you cannot change it.
- Select the Update leave entitlement balance check box, unless you do not want to track the leave balance.
- Specify the method for determining the leave entitlement, unless you are not tracking the leave balance.
If you use the CLA for hospitals, you can still use the complete period as a basis for calculating the holiday entitlement when an employee enters and leaves employment.
- Determine whether a negative leave balance is allowed. If you select Allow then Profit will not check for a negative leave.
- Click on: Next.
You can specify the settings for the integration.
- Click on: Finish.
