Dossier in OutSite
The dossier is an important means of digital communication between you and your customers. In Profit, you make a distinction between dossier items you only use within your own organisation and dossier items you want to make available to customers. You specify this per dossier item type, feature group and workflow.

Description
Note:
The description below relates to the customer portal. It also applies for the accountancy portal!
By making the dossier available to your customer in the portal, you can save time and money! When your customer has a question and your dossier is only available on paper, you have to go and look for the file. By giving a customer access to his own digital dossier, he can (quickly) view details himself. For example, you can display management reports (as a dossier item type) on the customer portal so the customer can access them him/herself whenever he/she wants.
You can do the same for the various declarations, the annual accounts, CaseWare documents, management reports, etc.
The customer can see the status of his dossier items. He/she can approve, process, etc these dossier items. You configure this via the default workflow in InSite. For responses to a dossier item, in InSite you can indicate whether they are visible only internally or also externally. Finally, the customer also has the opportunity to ask a question by submitting a new dossier item. Usually this is in response to another dossier item.
If you configure a OutSite for customers (customer portal, accountancy portal), you probably also want to allow the customers to submit a dossier item. You can configure this for a Dossier item type. You can select the To be recorded by external user check box on the Portal tab.
In order to see dossier items of a specific type in the portal and to be able to make submissions via the portal, you must allow at least one destination on the Destination tab of a dossier item type. If you have not done so then an error message is displayed.
Preparation
- Configure a feature group
An external user can only record a dossier item type if you have entered an External description for at least one feature group. Only then can Profit determine the correct feature group for an external submission.
Procedure
- Adjust a dossier item type for OutSite
- Activate a page type
- Dossier item incl feature group
- Templates per dossier item type
- Process an input form in the workflow
- Link a dossier item to a menu
- Link an overview to a menu item
