Packing slips with the barcode scanner

You can complete packing slips with the barcode scanner.

Note:

This functionality currently only works with scanners of Actemium, an AFAS partner.

If you want to use the barcode scanner functionality, you need to have a licence for at least Profit Logistics and Profit Connector.

Description

You can complete packing slips using the barcode scanner.

The communication between Profit and the barcode scanner takes place using connectors. A connector is used for the synchronisation of the master data that is stored on the barcode scanner.

When the connector is started for the first time, all articles, assembled items, warehouses and locations are synchronised. The moment when this happens is stored in the field Changed on. The next time you start the scanner, only the changed data is synchronised. Profit sends only articles, assembled items, warehouses and locations to the scanner.

You can check which packing slips are being processed by the scanner(s) and the data that comes back from the scanner to see if the processing is correct.

Note:

As yet the scanner does not work in combination with dimension articles, batch entry articles and 'length x width' articles.

Preparation

• Configuring the barcode scanner

  The configuration of the Packing slips for the barcode scanner consists of the activation of the functionality, the authorisation of the menu function and the authorisation of the various actions. You can also specify if you want to report the packing slip ready automatically once the entire packing slip has been scanned.

Procedure

• Change the picker for a packing slip using a scanner

  You can specify which picker must pick the packing slip on the scanner.

• Change the priority of a packing slip on the scanner

  For one ore more packing slips, you can specify or change the scanning priority.

• Print labels for packing slip lines using a scanner

  You can print labels for the packing slip lines and print the barcode on the label.

• Prepare packing slips for scanning

  You can use the barcode scanner to pick packing slips. The scanner software directs the warehouse employee and the employee himself does not have to make any choices. Profit determines which packing slip needs to be processed and which articles need to be picked. The user cannot change this on the barcode scanner.

• Retrieve a packing slip on a barcode scanner

  From the scanner, you can request a packing slip. The first eligible packing slip is sent via the connector to the barcode scanner if one or more packing slips have been prepared.

• Complete packing slips after scanning

  Once you have completed all packing slip lines on the barcode scanner, you can process the packing slip in Profit.
