Add bank groups

You use bank groups to define groups of bank account numbers to be used in bank order sets. A bank account number can occur in multiple bank groups. This allows you to define bank groups for collection, refunds, payments etc in which the same bank account numbers are present.

To add bank groups:

  1. Go to:
    • Financial / Management / Settings
    • General / Configuration / Payment settings / Bank account, Bank groups tab, Toevoegen Bankgroep action.
  2. Go to the tab: Bank groups.
  3. Click on: New.
  4. Enter the description.

For example, you can include the name of the bank and the type of the bank order in the description, such as ‘Collection ABCBank’.

    Note:

You add a bank group per bank, since bank-specific software needs to read the bank file. You are responsible for the correct configuration of the bank groups. Selecting the One bank check box in the bank group may help in this respect. An exception to this is if you are using the service of a party that can split the bank orders by bank, such as Equens. In that case, you can merge all files and deselect this check box.

  5. Select the One bank check box if you want all underlying bank account numbers to be of one bank type.
  6. Enter the BIC/SWIFT-address.

This field is mandatory if you have selected the One bank check box. In that case all underlying bank account numbers must have the same BIC/SWIFT address. Profit checks whether the bank account numbers you link to this bank group have this BIC/SWIFT address.

  7. Enter the file details.
  8. Select the Add date and time check box if you want the file name to contain the date/time.

If this check box is selected, you can apply variable file names. For example, if you want to upload a file to a bank and the file has the same name as a file previously loaded, the bank will consider this to be a previously loaded file and will not perform the order (for example Equens). However, if you include the date/time in the file name, the bank will consider this to be a different file and will perform the order.

  9. Click on: Finish.
