Add the leave type for parental leave

You add a leave type for parental leave.

You enter the parental leave for the employee as a leave range. In order to record a leave range, you configure the leave prioritisation. After configuring the prioritisation, you can record overlapping leave entries. The prioritisation determines how Profit handles overlapping leave.

Example:

An employee has parental leave every Friday afternoon. If you do not configure a prioritisation, then the employee must enter any holidays around the parental leave. This means the employee must record multiple leave entries for the holiday, which is very time-consuming.

To prevent this, configure the prioritisation of the Leave type. You give parental leave a higher priority than holiday. If the employee records holiday time, Profit uses the prioritisation to deduct the parental leave hours from the holiday time.

You can configure the prioritisation as follows:

  • 1. Parental leave
  • 2. WTR
  • 3. Present
  • 4. Special leave
  • 5. Time off in lieu
  • 6. Public holiday leave
  • 7. Statutory leave
  • 8. Holiday
  • 9. Unpaid leave

You give WTR a higher priority than statutory leave and holidays. Failure to do so affects the number of leave hours in the WTR entry that Profit generates automatically when a leave entry coincides with WTR accrual.
