Create an external page as site manager

You can add an external page to the menu. You use this option to specify a website's URL. When a visitor clicks on the link, he is taken directly to the linked website.

To create an external page:

  1. Log on and start Site management.
  2. Click on: Menu in the Site frame.
  3. Click on: New / External page in the Page frame.

  4. Enter the description.
  5. Enter the URL of the external page.

You can also enter a link to, for example, a document in SharePoint. You can test the link using Open link.

  6. Click on: Add
  7. Click on: Publish.
  8. Click on Yes in the message.

You still need to add the page to the menu so the page is also visible.

  9. Click on: Menu in the Site frame.
  10. Go to: the position in the menu where you want to display the page.
  11. Click on: New.
  12. Select the action Refer to existing page.
  13. Click on: Next.
  14. Select the added page using Search.

    Note:

Pages that have not yet been published can be found at the very bottom of the overview. Click on the 'Published' column header to reverse the sorting. Now the unpublished pages are at the top.

  15. Select how you want to open the page.

The added page is now visible in the menu.

  16. Click on: Add
