Add an assembly preparation

For the assembling, you first add an Production order as a kind of internal purchase order in which you record which assembled item is assembled and which parts are required. After the assembly process has been completed, the order is finalised using an Production. You use the Production order if you want to check whether you have enough parts in stock before you start the assembly.

To add an assembly preparation manually:

  1. Go to: Order Management / Production / Production order.
  2. Click on: New.
  3. Select Production order (Profit).
  4. Select the warehouse.
  5. Complete the fields.

In the detail section, the 'Assembled item' button is available. This opens a subwindow with the parts of the assembled item. This button is activated if you have added a line with an assembled item. In this subwindow, you can do the following:

    • If the assembled item is a Variable assembled item, this subwindow is opened automatically after you have entered a quantity in the main window. You can now adjust the quantities for the parts displayed and add, delete or change parts.
    • If the assembled item is not a Variable assembled item, you must use the button at the bottom of the detail section to open this subwindow. You cannot modify the parts displayed or their quantities now.
  6. When you have completed the line, a sub-entry layout appears in which you can see which parts are included in the assembled item.

If this is not a variable assembled item, you can click on the Assembled item action to view the parts.

  7. If required, change the assembled item (if this is a variable assembled item).
  8. Click on: Finish.
  9. Click on Finish again.
