Change the basic unit

The basic unit of the article can be adjusted.

You can link another basic unit to an article even after entries (stocks, purchases, sales) have been registered for this article.

To change the basic unit:

  1. Go to: Order Management / Item / Article.
  2. Open the properties of the article..
  3. Go to the tab: Units per item.

    The view has one line with a check mark in the Bas.unit column. This is the current basic unit.

  4. Click on the action: Change basic unit.
  5. Select a value for New basic unit.
  6. Click on: Finish.

    In the view, you now see a new line with the unit just added. This is the only line that has a check mark in the Bas.unit column. The new basic unit is also visible on the General tab.

  7. If required, open the properties of the basic unit to set preferences, a graduated order scale and minimum purchase and sales quantities.
  8. If you change the basic unit, it is also advisable to change the price/discount.
