Add a unit with a calculation

For a unit, you can specify that the surface area or volume is calculated when you add the article to the order. The following two calculation methods are available:

  • Two factors (surface)

Use this option for a calculation with two factors (length and width). In the article, you enter the preferred length and width. On the order line, you enter the quantity and, if applicable, a custom length and width Profit then uses to calculate the surface area.

  • Three factors (content)

Use this option for a calculation with three factors (length, width and height). In the article, you enter the preferred values; on the order line you enter the quantity Profit should use to calculate the volume. In case of this method, too, you can still change the values for length, width and height on the order line.

To add a unit with a calculation:

  1. Go to: Order Management / Item / Configuration / Unit.
  2. Click on: New

  3. In Unit, enter the code, for example LxW for ‘Length x Width’.
  4. Enter a detailed Description.
  5. In Type unit, select Two factors (surface) or Three factors (content) as the calculation to be performed on the unit.
  6. Click on: Finish

  6. Click on OK twice.
