Automatic registration of the visitor ID for Google Analytics

When a visitor has completed an input form, Profit will automatically register a visitor ID in Google Analytics and a visitor code in the Profit environment. You can define a relationship between this data and then measure the effectiveness of the input forms on the site.

The visitor ID applies per session and per user. Retrieving the visitor ID from Google Analytics falls outside of the scope of the Profit Help.

To retrieve a visitor ID in an analysis:

  1. Use an analysis based on one of the following data collections:
    • File items (with authorisation)
    • File items (without authorisation)
  2. Add the Google Analytics visitor code field to the data collection:
