Description

Profit has two default basic price lists: the 'basic price including VAT' and the 'basic price excluding VAT'. The basic sales prices are automatically stored in these two basic price lists.

You can add your own new price lists. You can add price lists for both sales and purchasing. You can group prices and/or promotional prices in a price list and then link them to one or more sales contacts.

One example of how you can use a price list is to use price lists per sector. You can also use price lists per currency.

You only add prices and promotional prices that are different to a price list. This means that if a price for a particular item is not in the price list, the lower level price then applies, in this case, the basic sales price. Of course this only applies if there are no prices at a higher level than the price list (for example, a price agreement for a sales contact).

Price lists are preferable to prices for sales contacts because, with price lists, you have a clear overview of the prices and they are also simple to maintain.

Preparation

  • Configuration

To ensure that the use of prices and discounts happens correctly, you can specify a number of settings.

Procedure

  • View the basic price list

You can view the two basic price lists in Profit, the basic price list including VAT and the basic price list exclusive of VAT. Profit adds the basic sales prices automatically to these two basic price lists.

  • Add a price list

When adding a price list, you can specify whether the prices in the price list include or exclude VAT. You can then enter a number of preferred values, which are suggested when adding prices or promotional prices to the price list.

  • Add a price to the price list

After you have added the price list, you can add a price to the price list. You can do this from the properties of the price list.

  • Maintain a price list

You can maintain the prices and promotional prices using an entry layout.

  • Copy a price list

You can add a price list by copying an existing price list. If required, when copying you can directly enter a percentage to increase/decrease the prices in the new price list compared to the old price list.

  • Add a promotional price to the price list

You can add a promotional price to a price list.
