Configure InSite on a test server

If you use a different server as the test server and you want to be able to access the live environment from this test server using InSite, we recommend you use the following configuration to avoid having to install InSite on the test server every time:

To configure InSite on a test server:

  1. On the test server, you have Profit installed. Here you can create a Central Log-on Environment and then install InSite in this environment.
  2. If InSite can be accessed from the Central Log-on Environment, you can set the URL to Geen locatie on the Publish tab of the properties of the site by selecting General / In & OutSite / Site.
  3. Restore a backup of the live server to the test server using a name of your own choosing.
  4. Open the properties of the existing site in the live environment by selecting General / In & OutSite / Site. Go to the Publish tab and set the available URL (if you have deleted it in step 2).
  5. Check whether the Profit Update Service is active so the site gets updated. After waiting some time, the site will be accessible.
