Media gallery

Images for pages and banners are saved at a common location so you can use the same image in multiple places. We call this location the media gallery. You can select images from the media gallery, add images to it and change images in it.

AFAS also supplies default images for use in banners in InSite.

Description

A site manager can maintain all the images in the media gallery centrally. With the media gallery, you can reuse images at different places in InSite & OutSite.

An advantage with saving images in the media gallery is that when you modify an image, it is also modified for all links.

Note:

In Profit Windows, you cannot select an image from the media gallery or add one to the media gallery. If the image is already included in the media gallery then with [Select] a new (identical) image is added. The image in the media gallery also remains where it is. This also applies to images in the entry program.

For all the images you save in the media gallery, the image is saved in a number of fixed formats in addition to the original format, so that you can use them in banners. For a square image this includes the following sizes:

  • Large: 128 x 128 px
  • Medium: 64 x 64 px
  • Small: 32 x 32 px
  • Extra small: - 16 x 16 px

If your image is not square then the specified number is the maximum for the longest side whilst maintaining the aspect ratio (i.e. 128 x 95px or 95x 128px)

You can select a deviating image for a specific format. For example, you can select another image for the small format than for the large format, whereby the small format displays less detail. You add the image used in the CMS pages (custom layout) to the media gallery. The deviating dimensions, Medium, Small and Extra small, are used in overviews and banners.

Size of the supplied icons:

The supplied icons have been created in a 70x70 px frame and were then placed in a 128x128 px frame. The size of the .jpg and .png files is 128x128 px, but the icon within it is actually 70x70 px.
