Check validity of import definitions

Perform a technical check on the data to be imported.

Note:

The technical check is an important step in the performance of a successful import. It is not the only check, however, as checks are also performed while importing.

Always test the import in a test environment before making permanent changes to your live environment.

Check validity of import definition:

1. Click on: Check.
2. The definition was saved in the previous step. Profit now checks if it can import the file with this import definition. A message displays if it detects any errors are detected.
3. If Profit notifies you that an error report has been generated, open the error report.
4. Go back to the previous steps in the wizard and correct the errors.
5. You can change the import file via Edit mode.
6. Perform the import (again).
7. If you have specified that a log file should be maintained for the import and Profit finds that a file with the specified name already exists, you can indicate that the existing log file must be deleted. If not, the data if the import action are added to the existing log file.
8. If the import has been performed successfully, a message appears.
9. If it finds any errors, the error information screen displays, in which you can view the details and correct any errors if required.
