Environment duration settings
In the environment properties you set the duration settings, meaning that you indicate how time can be entered.
Example:
For instance, can a duration of 8 hours and 30 minutes only be entered as 8:30, or can it also be entered as a decimal value: 8.50.
This setting only applies to absence and leave in Profit HR and to custom fields of the Duration type.
Depending on this setting in the environment properties, it may occur when importing data that you need to enter missing data (this depends on the setup of the import definition). This means that Profit does not import or derive the value, but you have to enter it manually. Even when completing a duration field, the setting below applies.
By default, Profit will also show the duration on views and reports based on this environment setting. You can in fact select deviating layouts when modifying a report or view for duration fields. See also the explanatory notes for Enter a duration in a wizard window.
Duration settings:
- Go to: General / Environment / Management / Properties.
- Go to the tab: General.
- Select the Enter duration in hours-minutes check box, if applicable.
- Select this check box if the duration (for instance in a leave entry) can only be entered in the hh:mm format. For instance, you enter a duration of 8 hours and 30 minutes as 8:30.
- Do not select this check box if the duration can be entered in both hours and minutes (hh:mm) and in hours and decimals.
- Click on: OK.
