Publish a page
If you have changed a page, you finalise the draft page using the Publish action. After you have edited a page, the old page remains visible to visitors until the moment of publication. A new page is not visible to visitors if you have not published it. Even after the Publish action, the (edited) page is not immediately visible. The Update Service must run first (this happens approximately every 3 minutes). Sometimes it is necessary to update overviews/sites yourself, manually. Manual update is only necessary if you want the change to be processed on the site within three minutes.
When publishing a page, the related pages are also published. If you have included a link to a news item, you can open the page of the news item as a related page, even if you have not yet updated the overviews.
To publish a page:
- Log on and start Site management.
- Go to: the page to be published.
- Click on: Publish.
- Click on: Yes.
Profit now shows a progress window until the publishing is finished. After this action, the page name is displayed without square brackets and it is visible to visitors to the site.
