Weighted calculation for a new parameter value

You can give a wage component a different value during a period. For example, if the employee moved during the month and you consequently have to adjust the travel expense amount. You record the valid parameter value for the applicable validity period. Profit now calculates the weighted parameter value in the salary processing.

Depending on the configuration at the CLA level, Profit calculates this based on calendar days or timetable days.

Example:

An employee receives a fixed performance allowance of 200.00 per month.

The performance allowance changes to 250.00 on 15 March. With the new method, you add a new parameter value with start date 15 March and the value 250.00.

In the salary processing, Profit calculates the weighted parameter value using the formula:

((200 * 14) + (250 * 17)) / 31 = 227.42

You can record multiple parameter entries in the same period.

Example:

The employee in the previous example gets a performance allowance of 300.00 starting on 25 March. You add a new parameter value with 25 March as the start date and 300.00 as the value.

In the salary processing, Profit calculates the weighted parameter value using the formula:

((200 * 14) + (250 * 10) + (300 * 7 ) / 31 = 238.71

The weighted calculation is not applicable to Yes/No parameters.

Example:

For each employee, you determine at the employee level whether the employee gets a deduction for the staff association.

If you apply the 'Berekenen' parameter for an employee (set it to Yes) halfway through a period, then Profit does not apply a weighted calculation. In this case, Profit calculates the deduction for the staff association over the entire month.

Weighted calculation:

  1. Go to: HR / Employee / Employee.
  2. Open the properties of the employee.
  3. Go to the tab: Wage component.
  4. Click on: New.
  5. Select the wage component.
  6. Click on: Finish.
  7. Open the view:
    • Modifiable employee parameters

For each wage component Profit displays the parameters that can be changed at the employee level.

    • Wage component parameter value

Profit displays all parameters by wage component. This includes the parameters that can be updated at the CLA and employer levels.

  8. Open the parameter's properties.
  9. Click on: New.
  10. Enter the start date.
  11. Enter the value.
  12. Select the employment for which you want to apply the parameter. This is only available if you have activated Multiple employments.
  13. Click on: Finish.

You can record multiple parameter entries in the same period.
