Transporter

You add transporters if you deliver items through one or more transporters.

Description

You can register the services that transporters offer for sending packages. For the more advanced services you usually have a direct contract person at the transporter. This is especially important if you use Digital pre-entry of shipments (TransSmart).

If you want to manually select which transporter to use for the delivery of a package in the sales process, then you can include the fields in the entry layout of the sales order and/or packing slip.

You can manually register or import the transporters and services.

It could be that you need to first authorise transporters, services and import (Transporter service).

Procedure

• Add a transporter

  You probably use different transporters to deliver your goods. You can record and select these transporters at the sales contact level.

• Link a transporter to a sales contact

  You can link a transporter to a sales contact because you probably often use the same transporter to send the goods to that particular sales contact.

• View transporters per sales contact

  Transporters may choose not to deliver packages in certain regions or not to deliver certain types of goods, such as refrigerated articles. You want to inform the sales contacts who receive their goods via this transporter of this.

• Add services of transporters manually

  You can register the services that transporters offer for sending packages. You can manually register or import the services.

• Import services of transporters

  You can import transporters and services of transporters. For example, if you use the digital pre-entry of shipments via TransSmart. Using the import action you can add transporters if they do not yet exist.
