Change the default file name for an attachment in a message template

By default, an attachment to an e-mail message gets the name of the message template type, with the extension added to it. For example: ‘Salesquote.pdf’. You can change this yourself, for example by also adding the name of the organisation to the file name using a tag.

This option is only available for e-mail messages that have a report as attachment, such as the e-mails in the sales process.

To change the file name of an attachment in a message template:

  1. Go to: General / Management / Message / Message template.
  2. Open the properties of the message template.
  3. Go to the tab: Attachment.
  4. Open the properties of the line.

If the message template is intended for invoices, you may see two lines: one for the PDF attachment and one for the XML attachment of the e-invoice.

  5. Select the Afwijkende bestandsnaam check box.
  6. Change the default name of the attachment in File name.
  7. If you want, you can add more tags:
    1. Go to: the position where you want to add the field.
    2. Click on:Invoegen tag.
    3. Select a tag.
  8. Save the changes.

If this is a new message template that you want to use as a default template, now link it in the appropriate place.

  1. If necessary, use the Output action to check the file name that will be used for the attachment (use a deviating issue method for a bulk message via e-mail from the current message template and then check the e-mail example).
