Save and manage filters

If you save a filter, you can apply it directly a next time, just by selecting it. If you save a filter together with a particular view, you can only use it for that view and not for other views.

Save a filter

If you save a filter with a particular view, you can retrieve it again with this view. You cannot retrieve the filter with another view.

Example:

You use the Organisations view and record a filter with the name 'Amsterdam'. You can use this filter in this view. In the Persons view, however, the filter is not available.

To save the filter:

In this example you add two filters which filter the Address column by the words Amsterdam and Rotterdam. You then save the filter.

  1. Open the view:.
  2. Display the filter window using one of the following options:
    • Click on the filter symbol and click on Show filter:

    • Right-click in the view. Click on:Run filter / Show filter.

    • Use the Ctrl+F hotkey.
  3. Record the filter.
  4. Click on:.
  5. Enter the name.
  6. Select (activate) a filter using one of the following methods.
    • Select the filter in the view.

    • Select the filter in the filter bar.

      If Profit does not display the filter bar, use Ctrl+Shift+L to display it.

    • Select the filter in the filter window.

  7. If you have saved a filter and this filter is active, you can cancel the filter by using the Ctrl+Shift+D hotkey combination. Profit clears the filter and displays all data in the view.

Delete a filter

You can delete filters that you no longer use.

To delete a filter:

  1. Go to:CRM / Organisation/person / Organisation/person.
  2. Open the filter window.
  3. Select the filter to be deleted.
  4. Click on:.
  5. Confirm that you want to delete the filter.

Automatically display a filter when opening a view

Profit can automatically apply a filter when you open a view. You do not have to enter or apply the filter manually.

Automatically display a filter:

  1. Go to: CRM / Organisation/person / Organisation/person.
  2. Add the filter.
  3. Select the check boxes:
    • Start up with filter by default

      Profit shows the filter when you display the view, but you can adjust it.

    • Do not show filter screen

      Profit automatically applies the filter and displays the view. You can then adjust the filter.

  4. Click on: OK.
